An Introduction to Teaching Topical, Controversial and Sensitive Issues (e.g. eco-anxiety, war, racism, discrimination)

• Discuss the potential challenges and opportunities of addressing topical, controversial and sensitive issues in the classroom.
• Explore methods for positive engagement that address issues of mental health and wellbeing
• Examine existing guidance on teaching controversial issues.
• Engage with and share critical thinking techniques for tackling controversial issues in the classroom.
